In the course of my nearly 25 years in politics, government, and issue advocacy I have benefited tremendously from kind and careful mentoring of people who were skilled in various aspects of public work. Some of this is related to doing issue campaigns—how to target efforts or choose from the various methods of voter contact. Other skills—such as fundraising or generating media coverage—have more general application. I have written this series of articles as a way of capturing what I have learned over the years and making it available to others. Please feel free to use what is helpful to you and leave the rest.

Individuals and groups should feel free to make and distribute as many copies of the complete articles as they wish. We request that anyone using an isolated quote or portions of the text give proper attribution to Creative Option C, LLC. Happy reading—and please feel free to make comments on my blog about anything you read here.
